Byrne Cup:
The Village seniors kicked off their hurling Byrne Cup campaign with a very hard fought win over Gowran last Thursday on a scoreline of 0-14 to 0-9. This was a tough and competitive encounter throughout with scores at a premium.
Juvenile:
The Village colours were flying high in Nowlan Park last weekend as the U10 panel took part in the finals of the U10 Go Games. All Village U10 starlets had great fun and took part in this great initiative which the GAA run under the ethos of “all kids play & stay with the GAA” which ensures all kids get full games of hurling and teams have no subs on the sideline.
The U10 squad also took part in a hurling blitz in Naas last Saturday. They Village boys played some outstanding hurling throughout to win the cup final. Well done to the players and mentors. The Village U12 squad scored a very good win over neighbours O’Loughlin Gaels in a recent “run-out” game. This squad are preparing for the upcoming Andy Egan U12 summer cup tournament which will be played off throughout the summer months. The Village under 8 squads welcomed O’Loughlin Gaels to Larchfield last Wednesday for two friendly Go Games.
Junior B:
The Village Junior B is having an up and down campaign as they suffered defeat to O’Loughlin Gaels recently before bouncing back with a solid win over Threecastles on a scoreline of 2-17 to 0-3.
