Kilkenny company awarded business ambassador title

Kilkenny-based Prochem Engineering was recognised as an InterTradeIreland Business Ambassador at a special event held with Minister Richard Bruton TD, Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation on Wednesday June 1 in Dublin.

Over 80 TDs and Senators were also in attendance at the event which recognised SMEs that have excelled through North-South trade and innovation.

Prochem Engineering has built a successful business focusing on solutions for the pharmaceutical and biotech markets and employs 70 people. It was supported by InterTradeIreland through its FUSION programme to undertake an 18 month innovation project with the University of Ulster and was partnered with high calibre graduate, John George Butler to help lead the FUSION project.

Prochem Engineering is now one of the only engineering consultancies in the country to offer a one-stop-shop for energy reduction projects within cleanrooms with the ability to design, assess, advise, project manage and construction manage retrofit projects without the requirement of an external simulation expert. This new capability - Prochem Cleantech Services - will lead to additional revenues of up to €2million and create international opportunities for the company.
