A man who told a garda ‘ f**k off you paedophile’ was fined €300 at the last sitting of Kilkenny District Court.
Michael Carthy, Wetlands, Halting Site, Kilkenny pleaded guilty to the offence which took place at Circular Road, Kilkenny on December 25.
The court heard that Carthy had consumed a lot of alcohol and was walking home with a group of people and making a lot of noise when the offence occurred.
Garda Donoghue told the court that the defendant came into the garda station to apologise for his actions the day after the incident.
His solicitor Michael Lanigan also expressed apologies on behalf of his client.
