Café Meubles is delighted to announce the first Kilkenny exhibition of works in oil and acrylic by Waterford artist Ruth Hickey, which will be on display during the month of June in the Kilkenny Business Park.
Ruth Hickey, a Dunmore East born artist, draws her inspiration and palate from the seascapes of her youth, as well as an affinity and love for nature and its constant movement and change.
Ruth, who has studied, work-shopped and exhibited in both group and solo shows all over the country during her considerable artistic career, returns to the south-east to exhibit some of her finest works to date.
Executed in acrylic and oil, Ruth’s works celebrate the Irish seas in all their might and the beautiful natural landscapes of the Irish coastline in all weather conditions. With a rough, Impressionistic brush style and an astute eye for the subtleties of colour contained in nature, Ruth’s paintings rejoice in movement and fluidity of perception, which soothe the soul while engaging the mind.
