There is a change in the dates with the soccer blitzes being held the following dates are the new dates on which they are being held on May 6, and the other on May 13.
The two top scoring teams will (one from each blitz ) go on to the final that will be held on May 20. Good luck to all the teams who take part and may the best team win.
There will be a sponsored walk on Sunday May 15 in aid of Building of Hope project. The walk will take place along the Nore Valley walk, which is part of the flagship project of Trail Kilkenny.
Olive Fanning of the Kilkenny city Macra Club is looking for anybody wishing to take part whether a member of Macra or a member of the general public — all are welcome. The walk starts at the picnic tables in Maudlin Street at 11am, and registration is at 10.30am, pre-registration is advisable.
There is a €10 entrance fee which goes directly to the charity (Building of Hope ). The money raised on the day will go towards building residential homes for blind children in Kenya. Support will make a difference to the lives of these young children.
Kilkenny County Macra are holding a Golf Classic in Callan Golf Club on Saturday, May 21, from 2pm. Entry for a team of three (Men, Ladies or Mixed teams ) is €75 and players do not need to be members of Macra as it is open to the general public.
