Callan Macra win the NDC All-Ireland Volleyball Title

The Macra na Feirme All-Ireland Volleyball final took place this past weekend in the Watershed sports complex in Kilkenny with the team from Callan Macra, Kilkenny, winning the title.

The competition is kindly supported by the National Dairy Council as Macra’s Health and Wellbeing partner.

Callan faced stiff competition from Camross, Laois, who came second. The competition saw 16 Macra teams from around the county travel to Kilkenny to compete for the national title. The Callan team was made up of Laureena Murphy, Aisling Cody, Cathy Cody, Kathleen O’Keeffe, Colm Lyons, Eoin Lyons, Ollie Kennedy and Peter O’Keeffe.

Speaking at the event, Macra na Feirme, national president, Michael Gowing, said, “I’d like to congratulate Callan Macra on their success. Callan consistently excels at athletic competitions and the competition was tough — well done to all the teams that took part. I’d like to thank our sponsors NDC for their support and all those involved in running the competition.”
