A new charity shop will open for business in Castlecomer this week, following the decision of the Irish Wheelchair Association to close its outlet in the town. The IWA shop closed its doors for the last time yesterday, Thursday, March 31.
Anne Coughlan was the shop mananger up until its closure this week. Ms Coughlan felt that the shop’s closure would be a great loss to the town, leaving nowhere for people to leave in their unwanted goods. In light of this, she has decided to open up her own second-hand shop and donate profits to local charities, such as the Castlecomer District Hospital.
The new shop, called ‘Castlcomer Charity Shop - Supporting Local Charities’, has its grand opening today, Friday, April 1.
Ms Coughlan is leasing the same property in which the Irish Wheelchair Association operated, so there will be no location change for customers. Ms Coughlan would like to thank people for supporting the Irish Wheelchair Shop, and welcomes everyone to come in and continue to support her in her new venture.
