Alliance Francaise host jazz session

The next evening of the Alliance Française Kilkenny French Circle is a jazz session with French Saxophonist Thierry Millet in the Hole in the Wall.

The event will take place on Wednesday April 13 at 8.30pm. Thierry who lives in Kilkenny and has played in many bands and combos now studies at WIT and he will play some jazz classics like Fever, Hit the road Jack, the girl from Ipanema, Just the 2 of us: Bernie's tune, Angela, Song for my father, take the A train and many more.

Singers will be on hand to give a rendition to the smooth saxophone accompaniment!

Along the way he’ll introduce the pieces and fill the audience in on the history of jazz in French — after all it did originate in the most French part of the US in New Orleans and Louisiana.

So join the French Circle in Kilkenny’s French Quarter in the Hole in the Wall at 8.30pm on Wednesday April 13. There is a small admission charge of €5 for non-members and €3 for members.
