Watergate celebrate 40th production with Wild Harvest

Wild Harvest marks the 40th Production for Watergate Productions. It opens at the Watergate Theatre on Tuesday 22 March and runs until Saturday 26 March, with performances nightly at 8pm.

Written by Ken Bourke, the play exposes the powerlessness of a group of young men and the performance traces what happens when they begin to meddle with the past and kick back against the rules that are supposed to contain them.

The story unfolds against the backdrop of forced emigration as 1980s Ireland suffers the horrors of depression. On the cusp of adulthood, Colm (John Morton ) and his contemporaries struggle through the mundane preoccupations of life. At the core of the humour and the frivolity is the desperation of disillusioned youth.

The cast are in their final weeks of rehearsals for this exciting production. Watergate Productions are delighted to have some new members on board. The talented cast has featured with various theatre groups in Kilkenny. The cast includes David O'Rourke, Nicola Keating, John Morton, Ken McGuire, Dave Thompson, Alan Butler and Sean Hackett and is directed Ger Cody.

Tickets are now on sale at the Watergate, tel (056 ) 7761674, price €16/€12.50.
