At the half way point of the Spring Trios league at KBowl in MacDonagh Junction, pre league favourites, the Pin Killers have moved to the top of the table with 18 points. This was helped by a 5-0 win over third placed Riverview on Tuesday night. Steven Brennan was in top form for the Pin Killers with a score of 225 which included his handicap.
Other big winners on the night were The Beginners who claimed the maximum five points in their match against the A Team. Second place No Namers won 3-2 against the Kilkenny Kingpins to keep pressure on the Pin Killers. Other scores on the night were Beans 3 v Kilkenny Harriers 2.
The top score of the night 189 (before handicap ) came from Niall Comerford who plays for The 200’s, no doubt this big score helped his team to a narrow 3-2 win over the Dream Team.
The scoring works as follows: each night two teams play two games against each other, a team gets two points for winning a game. The team with the overall highest score receives a bonus point which means the best possible scores a team can get on a night is five points.
