Be inspired by one of Ireland’s leading entrepreneurs

One of Ireland’s leading entrepreneurs is to visit Kilkenny next month for an important networking event organised for business leaders in Kilkenny by the Kilkenny Chamber.

Denis O’Brien is the guest speaker at the prestigious event. Mr O’Brien is the chairman of the privately-owned Digicel Group, one of the fastest growing cellular companies in the world, with operations in 32 markets with more than 10 million subscribers.

Business leaders in Kilkenny and across the region will get together for the lunch on Friday March 4, at 12.30pm in the Kilkenny Ormonde Hotel.

“Business people are encouraged to attend the lunch and hear one of Ireland’s leading entrepreneurs Denis O’Brien and discover his perspectives on business and on Ireland’s current business and economic environment,” said Alison McGrath, Chamber CEO. “We are delighted that he will also officially launch Kilkenny Chamber’s Business Awards for 2011, Kilkenny’s leading business event.”

Mr O’Brien is the founder of the Communicorp Group which owns and manages a portfolio of media and broadcasting-related companies in Ireland and across Europe while he has other interests across several sectors including aircraft leasing, golf, and leisure.

Outside of his business interests, Mr O’Brien chaired the 2003 Special Olympics World Summer Games in Ireland. He serves as a director on the US Board of Concern Worldwide and is the chairman and co-founder of Frontline, the International Foundation for the Protection of Human Rights Defenders which is based in Dublin. In 2000 he established The Iris O’Brien Foundation to identify and assist projects in Ireland and internationally which aim to alleviate disadvantaged communities.
