Funding for graveyards

A number of old graveyards in Kilkenny have been reccommended for funding by Kilkenny County Council.

Funding will be allocated pending compliance with statutory requirements, and money can be used for the up-keep of the graveyards.

Windgap graveyard in Coolhill will be allocated €500 for the repair of paths and planting.

Ballinamorahan in Kilmacow has been allocated €11,400 to facilitate a conservation plan relating to the clearing of the graveyard and other restoration works.

Killahy graveyard was allocated €500 for general maintenance works, while Tullaherin Heritage Society was also allocated €500 for general maintenance works.

The overall sum allocated to historic graveyards totals €12,900.
