Savour the moment with lobster and oysters

Most of us weren’t reared on oysters and lobster which is why an evening in Chez Pierre on Parliament St is going to be one hell of a special occasion.

Lobster and oysters are all that are on the menu for the special Savour Kilkenny Food Festival event that is taking place on Friday next between 7pm and 9.30pm.

Proprieter Pierre Schneider and chef Emilio are hosting the event and there are still some sittings available for anyone who would like to avail of this opportunity.

It’s not often that lobster appears on the menu in Kilkenny restaurants and so if you like it, you should grasp this opportunity and book your table.

Pierre told the Kilkenny Advertiser “The lobster will be poached and then taken from its shell and roasted in olive oil and butter in the oven. The oysters will be served first in all their simplicity - raw. We have a supplier fisherman in Wexford who is sourcing the lobster for us. There will be a full lobster for each guest.”

Pierre will also recommend wines to accompany the meal.

“This is very typical in France. I will be recommending a Muscadet and a Picpoul de Pinet in white wines and a Loire Valley and a Gamay in red to accompany this meal. It is an exclusive evening and I think it will be one that people will really enjoy,” he added.
