Tom Cranny exhibits at Loughboy Library

Loughboy Library ishosting a special exhibition this month by Tom Cranny. Tom has previously exhibited during Kilkenny Arts Week.

He is a self-taught, locally-based artist who specialises in portraits of people and animals.

The women in his portraits do not exist and are a product of his imagination. These have been painted using an old sock and it is truly amazing how he can create something of such beauty from old and tattered materials. His main objective is to create an expression and to allow you, the viewer, to imagine what the story behind each expression is.

The paintings of the animals portray their individual characters and personalities.

Tom’s exhibition runs at Loughboy Library until November 12 during normal opening hours.

November 15 sees the return of The Good Shepherd Centre under the guidance of their tutor Ann Jones.

Bookings are now being taken for exhibitions in 2011-this is a free service and local groups, individuals and organisations are most welcome.
