Two Irish kickboxing champions will be part of a strong card of fights planned for Kilkenny’s Ormonde Hotel this Sunday, October 17.
Kilkenny Top Pro martial arts club will host another full-contact kickboxing evening with current Irish champion John ‘the Storm’ O’Shea topping the bill.
O’Shea faces a tough fight against Galway’s Alex Novac for the Irish welterweight title, and he will be out for revenge this time around having lost a close decision to Novac the last time the pair met.
Current ladies’ champion Ann-Marie Bergin, one of the country’s toughest and most exciting female kickboxers, will face another Irish champion, Donna Larkin from Galway.
Larkin has a reputation as one of the toughest fighters on the circuit and once again this pair met previously with the Galway fighter winning a controversial decision.
Top Pro have actively sought out the toughest opposition for their fighters to ensure they get a true test of their credentials as well as making sure the fans get their money’s worth.
Also fighting on Sunday will be Johnny McCabe, who takes on Irish title contender Esrea Nolan, with the opportunity to put himself in the title frame with a victory.
Dermot O’Rourke makes his home debut following two fights away and he has lost 13kg training hard for this fight, and Robert Miskow, Dermot Maher, Shea Fitzpatrick, Daryl Shaw and young up-and-comer Conor Dowling are some of the names that make up the undercard.
