Fianna Fáil regional conference in Kilkenny a resounding success — Aylward

The Fianna Fáil regional conference that took place in Kilkenny last weekend was a resounding success according to local Fianna Fáil TD and chair of the agriculture session at the event, Bobby Aylward.

“The Carlow Kilkenny Fianna Fáil organisation decided to host this conference and invite Government ministers to Kilkenny city because we thought it was very important to discuss local and national issues,” Dep Aylward said.

“At the conference we heard from the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Innovation, Batt O’Keeffe TD, the Minister for Agriculture, Brendan Smith TD, and the Minister for Social Protection, Eamon Ó Cuív TD.

“We discussed challenges facing the country and the challenges facing local families. The ministers were keen to explain Government policy and the rationale behind decisions that were being made.

“The members of the Fianna Fáil organisation took the opportunity to question the ministers and to outline their views and experiences in local communities.

“It was a very valuable event and I was very pleased that ministers gave up their Saturday to come to Kilkenny,” concluded Dep Aylward.
