Local PR guru has the Midas touch

Local PR specialist Alma Feeley was recognised for her professional approach to business marketing when she was announced as a finalist in the recent Excellence in Female Entrepreneurship Awards.

The South East Enterprise Boards, representing Kilkenny, Carlow, Waterford, Wexford, and South Tipperary shortlisted her public relations company, Midas PR, as one of just five businesses recognised for excellence in marketing.

Since its establishment in 2003 the company has advised a number of leading national and international businesses such as Diageo and Greencore, as well as local companies such as Campagne restaurant, the Crafts Council of Ireland, Prochem Engineering, and Business IT Solutions (BITS ).

The County Kilkenny-based company was behind the successful 2008 launch of local chef Garrett Byrne’s eagerly anticipated restaurant, Campagne, which was described by Bridgestone Guide publisher John McKenna as ‘the opening of the year’.

Midas PR is based in Stoneyford and offers communications strategies, media relations, media training, copywriting, speechwriting, and event management.

Leading international business strategist Sinead Hewson described Kilkenny woman Alma Feeley as a ‘superb communications professional’.

With more than 16-years experience as a PR professional, Ms Feeley is a former board member of the Irish cahpter of HSMAI (Hospitality, Sales and Marketing Association International ), she lectured in public relations at the Fitzwilliam Institute in Dublin, and was one of the founders of the Savour Kilkenny Food Festival.
