Local celebrities to ‘Serve it Up’

Kilkenny Business Women’s Network have come up with a very novel way of fundraising this year, in conjunction with the two local charities Amber Women’s Refuge and the Good Shepherd Centre for Homeless Men.

On Saturday, November 13, they’re hosting ‘Local Celebrities Serve It Up’ – an evening of good food and entertainment. To add a twist to the event, a three course dinner will be served by teams of local celebrities to include local Dragon Bobby Kerr, Ducksie Walsh, Cllr Andrew McGuinness, KCLR96fm presenters, John McGuinness TD, Mick Galwey, Mary White TD, Cllr Malcolm Noonan, Brian Keyes editor of the Kilkenny People, Mayor Martin Brett, Naoise Coogan editor of the Kilkenny Advertiser, solicitor Michael Lanigan and Kilkenny’s finest firefighters and Gardai to name but a few.

On booking tickets guests can decide who they would like to serve them. As each team will have only three tables each to serve this is on a first come first served basis. So book your tickets now!.

To get the evening off to a good start Hotel Kilkenny is sponsoring a cosmopolitan cocktail reception and guests will be entertained by the Thukolo Gospel Choir. Then the fun begins. The celebrity teams will be graded by the guests, and a winner will be announced by the end of the evening. As usual, there will be a fantastic raffle, and the evening will round off with dancing to the fabulous Memphis Cats.

President of Kilkenny Business Women’s Network, Dee Gibney said, “The Network took a break from its fundraising last year, but this year we’re back with a bang – a gala event with a difference. We see this as a really good night out, with the added bonus of supporting two very deserving charities.”

Tune into the Sun Nunn show on KCLR96FM next Thursday September 16, at 11.30am when tickets for ‘Serve It Up’ will be launched and the local celebrities will be interviewed about their serving abilities!

Tickets cost €50, and can be booked by contacting Trish Finegan on 087 7565376, or Dee Gibney on 087 6884723.
