Bishop of Ossory Séamus Freeman has this week announced a number of clerical changes within the Ossory diocese.
The Very Reverend Dean Seamus McEvoy is to retire as parish priest of Iniostige and become Pastor Emeritus in Rathdowney, Co Laois.
The Reverend Patrick Carey CC of Rathdowney, Co Laois is to become chaplain at St Luke’s Hospital in Kilkenny while the current chaplain at St Luke’s, Reverend Lorcan Moran is to become curate in Thomastown, Co Kilkenny.
The Very Reverend Richard Scriven, a team member at St John’s parish, Co Kilkenny, is to become parish priest at Iniostige and Reverend Sean O’Connor, chaplain at St Kieran’s College is to become a team member at St John’s parish.
Reverend Dermot Ryan CC of Mooncoin is to become chaplain of St Kieran’s College and diocesan director of adult faith development.
The Very Reverend Eamonn O’Gorman, parish priest in Mooncoin, is to become parish priest in Seir Kieran, Co Offaly and the Very Reverend Peter Muldowney, parish priest in Seir Kieran, is to become parish priest in Mooncoin.
Reverend William Purcell CC of Callan is to become full-time diocesan director of vocations with residence in St Kieran’s College.
