They have been the talk of the county in recent weeks, and now the K-Team are putting their voices to song in a further effort to send their hurling heroes to Corke Park in style.
Under cover of darkness the mysterious K-team have launched a campaign to cover the county in black and amber in the run up to Sunday’s All-Ireland final and this week they teamed up with local band The Kilkenny’s and music man Andrew McGuinness to record an anthem for the occasion.
With the lyrics already up their sleeves, the musical collection was promptly thrown together and with the kind help of Kevin Broderick and KCLR, the song was recorded in Broderick’s in just 30 minutes and pressed onto CD in record time.
“We have done our best to decorate the city and county in the black and amber and now we want to beat Tipp on the airwaves too,” said the group’s enigmatic leader K1.
“The K-Team would like to thank everyone who has helped us with all of our projects, now let’s send our teams to Dublin with the same excitement they give us every year.”
David Cashin of The Kilkennys said the band were delighted to join forces with the K-Team and thoroughly enjoyed the ‘craic’ in the recording studio.
And Cllr Andrew McGuinness said he was a big supporter of the K-Team after seeing the buzz they had created in the community and the decorating they had done across the county.
The K-Team and friends are working hard on distributing the track all over the county but if you can’t wait, you can download it now by texting ‘music 6356’ to 57501.
