Kilkenny folk with dreams of stardom are sure to flock to the Pembroke Hotel in the city on Saturday, September 18, when the popular All Ireland Talent Show holds open auditions there.
The RTE show, which kept the county on the edge of its collective seats on its last run as local lads Na Fianna made a dash to the final, is set to return to the small screen for a third season.
Na Fianna were edged out at the final hurdle last year when impressive 13-year old Chloe Coyle from Co Tyrone won the title with her moving performance of ‘The Water is Wide’.
However, the success of the band, who hail from Kilkenny and Laois, will no doubt have inspired a host of other local acts to try and make a name for themselves on the show hosted by Grainne Seoige.
Auditions for the eastern part of the country will be held in the Kilkenny Hotel later this month while there are also open auditions scheduled for Dublin, Cork, Galway and Derry this month.
The winner of the 2011 competition stands to win a phenomenol €50,000 prize alongiside bringing honour to their region and auditions are open to people of all ages, whatever your talent.
Registration for the Kilkenny auditions opens at 7am and closes, promptly, at 3pm. Applicants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian
