Glanbia Ingredients, the makers of Kilmeaden and Avonmore cheese has retained two prestigious trophies and scooped an additional trophy, two gold medals and one silver medal in the Class Awards at Nantwich International Cheese Show last week.
Glanbia retained the Fayrefield Trophy for the best overseas cheddar and the Kerrygold trophy for the best Irish Cheddar. In addition, it secured the Guy Smith Trophy presented by Dairygold UK for the best mature cheddar cheese, two gold medals for mild cheddar cheese and mature cheddar cheese and a silver medal for single Irish cheddar.
The Nantwich International Cheese show is considered to be the top cheddar cheese show in the world and over 30,000 visitors attended this year including all the major cheese buyers from around the world. This show has been running now for 113 years.
