Keep Kilkenny Beautiful winners announced

Over 300 people attended an awards ceremony at Hotel Kilkenny on Tuesday night where winners of the Keep Kilkenny Beautiful event accepted their awards.

Every year the residents and businesses of Kilkenny show how proud they are of their city by maintaining their gardens to the highest standard possible.

The annual competition ‘Keep Kilkenny Beautiful’ recognises the efforts of all those who work tirelessly all year round to ensure that their gardens and shop fronts are kept in tip-top shape.

The winners of each category in this year’s competition were announced at a presentation on Tuesday night.

The results are as follows:

Gardens Private:

Group A: 1st Mrs Nicholson, Lower Dominic Street (€100 garden voucher ), 2nd Eamon Cross, 1 Lower Dominic St, 3rd Anthony Taylor, 23 Ossory Park.

Finally, the Hall of Fame award went to Tom Reade, who for the last ten years, has carefully tended to and maintained one of our historic graveyards, Rioch’s graveyard on Walkin Street.
