A second meeting seeking young critics to look at and question the visual art side of the Kilkenny Arts Festival will take place this Friday July 16, at 3pm in the Butler Gallery.
The meeting encourages young people aged around 16 – 19 who enjoy looking at modern and contemporary art, but are not sure about some of it, to come along and find out more?
The Butler Gallery will work with the group of young people and will start the process with an ‘art attack’ marathon of different art workshops including drawing, painting, photography, film and installation in various venues in the city from July 19 – 30.
In early August, they will start visiting art galleries in the city and meeting professional art critics writing in different newspapers, magazines and on blogs in Ireland.
This opportunity is completely free of charge and food and materials will be included throughout the project.
