Swingin’ Bluecats to jive in Kilkenny

Local favourites, The Swingin' Bluecats will swing into action in the beer garden of The Left Bank this coming Saturday, July 3, from 4-6pm.

Catch the band for a rare Kilkenny gig and expect to hear the type of jump, jive and swing music that kick started the retro-swing movement in the 1990s.

Suited and booted in their 1940s retro style royal blue zoot suits, the band have brought the house down at many prestigious events and venues such as Blues On The Bay Festival – Warrenpoint (NI ), Derry Jazz Festival (NI ), Docklands Maritime Festival (Dublin ), Guinness Jazz Festival (Cork ), Hep Cats Holiday (UK ), Limavady Jazz and Blues Festival (NI ), The Button Factory (Dublin ) and loads more.

Each number has been professionally arranged in a set which covers classics made famous by such legends as Louis Jordan, Louis Prima, Cab Calloway, Jackie Wilson, Big Joe Turner, Bill Haley, Brian Setzer Orchestra, Glenn Miller Orchestra, Ray Charles, The Andrews Sisters etc.

The band is firmly focused on delivering the finest in jump, jive and swing so get out and see them this weekend in Kilkenny.
