The Rat Pack are back

Iconic stars of Hollywood’s golden age mingle freely on the stage in Of All The Bars, the exciting and innovative new play from Banana Moon productions which arrives in Kilkenny this weekend.

Humphrey Bogart opens a new bar which plays host to Rat Pack favourites such as Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr, as well as love interests Marilyn Monroe and Jane Russell.

The premise is for the audience to act as flies-on-the-wall as these great icons interact in ordinary situations, bolstered by a fantastic soundtrack of Rat Pack favourites.

Castlecomer author Neville Thompson, who co-wrote the play and acts as director, was inspired by ‘Boulevard of Broken Dreams’, a tribute to Edward Hopper’s famous ‘Nighthawks’ diner painting replacing the characters with Elvis Presley, James Dean, Humphrey Bogart and Marilyn Monroe.

The cast includes Michael ‘Midgy’ Dowd (Humphrey Bogart ), Neville Thompson (Elvis ), Michelle Burke (Marilyn Monroe ), Colm Meagher (Frank Sinatra ), Mark Rothwell (Dean Martin ), Ger ‘Chubby’ Brennan (Groucho Marx ), Michael ‘Mousey’ Brennan (Jerry Lewis ), Barry Byrne (Bing Crosby ), Ann Moylan (piano-player Sam ) and Mary Clarke (Jane Russell ).

‘Of All The Bars’ promises plenty of singing, dancing, laughter and fun for all as the audience become privy to the everyday lives of Hollywood’s most enduring icons.

‘Of All The Bars’ will be performed at the Watergate Theatre in Kilkenny this Saturday, June 12, at 8pm. Tickets from €12 to €14 from the box office on (056 ) 7761674.
