King Henry to front the new GAA TV Championships adverts

The 2010 GAA Championships are up and running and we are all looking forward to the prospect of two hugely entertaining competitions in the weeks and months ahead.

To coincide with the start of the Championships the GAA have made two advertisements to be broadcast throughout the Summer. Kilkenny’s Henry Shefflin features in the hurling advertisement while Kieran Donaghy is shown in the football advertisement. The adverts will start airing from this week onwards. The specially commissioned adverts aim to promote the Championships, the football advertisement celebrates the team behind each player and the hurling advertisement highlights the unique skill and history of the game.

A video package providing a behind the scenes look at how the advertisements were filmed, highlighting the role of club members from Na Fianna in Dublin can also be accessed on the GAA.ie video room at the following link: www.gaa.ie/gaa-news-and-videos/video-room/video/1/30641/

These advertisements are part of the overall advertising and promotional plans for the GAA football and hurling championships and will complement a number of initiatives organised by the Provincial Councils for the earlier part of the competitions.
