GAA rivals united at 2010 GAA campaign

Sponsor of the GAA Football All-Ireland Senior Championships, Ulster Bank, assembled its array of GAA stars to kick-off their 2010 campaign in Dublin during the week.

The rival stars took part in an unusual team training session which saw Seán Óg Ó hAilpín teach footballers including Kieran Donaghy and Joe Bergin the art of the side-line cut. The behind-the-scenes training session, along with helpful tips from the stars, will form part of a host of activity available on Ulster Bank’s GAA hub - www.ulsterbank.com/gaa - throughout the season. The selection of Gaelic Games biggest stars from rival counties including Kerry, Cork, Kilkenny, Galway and Derry looked ahead to the upcoming championship which will see some of the work colleagues come head to head throughout the summer.

Ulster Bank is in year three of its sponsorship of the GAA and 2010 sees the sponsorship grow from strength to strength. After a hugely successful Off the Ball Roadshow with Ulster Bank last season, the ‘UB Stars’ will be on the road again with the Newstalk team conducting live broadcasts in eight counties throughout the championship, including new locations such as Laois, Sligo, Tipperary and Monaghan. Ulster Bank’s dedicated GAA website will feature behind-the-scenes exclusive footage of the tour and all other activities throughout the season as Ulster Bank GAA TV returns. This year, they are also bringing back the 16th man blog which will offer even more interactivity. Other features will include real time reporting, augmented reality, online games and empowering the keenest GAA followers to have their say. Fans will also be able to keep tabs on all of the action and what fans the world over have to say about the championship on Ulster Bank’s digital channels. The hugely successful Ulster Bank Virtual GAA Game, an eight metre custom built kicking machine, will also be visiting counties throughout the championship. All activities will feature a selection of the GAA’s best players and fiercest rivals throughout what is set to be another highly competitive GAA All-Ireland Football Championship.
