This is my favourite style as it reminds me of my childhood when my sisters and I would all sit around and my mother would put a French plait in our hair every Sunday. To create this look start off by dividing your hair into five to seven layers from the top of the head to the base of the neck. Divide the top layer into three sections, and all the other layers into two sections each.
Begin with the top layer and cross the sections over each other as you would for a normal plait. Cross the left section over the middle, and do the same with the right section. Do this only once.
Take the left section of the second layer and add it to the left section of the first layer.
Continue the plait by crossing the whole section over the middle section.
Do the same with the other side. Add the right section of the second layer to the right section of the first layer. Cross the whole right section over the middle section. Continue in this way with all the layers until they have all been added to the plait. Finish it off by plaiting the hair that is left as you would a traditional plait. This may appear confusing but once you follow those tips when you get started you’ll get it no problem. However, I would suggest getting together with your girlfriends and plaiting each other’s hair as it makes it more fun and much easier to create.
