There were dramatic scenes on the Castlecomer Road this week when a large lorry toppled over on the road leaving the driver and other road users aghast at the scene.
Traffic was disrupted in Kilkenny on Tuesday evening last as the overturned truck lay prostrate on the Castlecomer Road roundabout.
Nobody was injured in the incident which left the truck lying completely on its side on the grass verge of the roundabout for several hours. It had been travelling towards Castlecomer when the accident occurred.
Gardai were on the road for some time diverting traffic around the other side of the roundabout on Tuesday evening as a crane and other heavy lifting equipment was brought to the scene to lift the truck from its side. It was some hours before it was finally removed on Tuesday night.
The Brian Cunningham Transport truck came from Castlebar in Co Mayo.
