Foster and Allen embark on a nationwide tour from September 27 - October 24.
The duo will be playing at many Irish venues as part of their Irish tour and are expected in Kilkenny on Wednesday October 15, 2008 at the Watergate Theatre on Parliament street.
The story of Foster and Allen began a long time ago, when Mick and Tony were playing in country music bands around Ireland. They played several venues and proved extremely popular, so-much-so, that they decided to remain as a duo and Foster and Allen were formed. Foster and Allen are the only Irish artists to have an album in the UK album charts, every single year for 16 years from 1983 to 1999 and again for six years from 2002 to 2007. This amazing achievement for an ‘easy listening’ group is recorded in the ‘Guinness book of records.’ The duo is most famously known for combining easy listening music with a touch of traditional Irish instrumentals and this technique is evident in ‘Rambles of Spring’ , ‘A Bunch of Thyme’ , and ‘Maggie’, which have become the signature pieces for Foster and Allen. They have appeared on numerous TV shows in Ireland including their own TV series on RTE television.
Foster and Allen have achieved album and video sales in excess of an amazing 19 million worldwide. So be sure to catch the phenomenal duo in Kilkenny on Wednesday October 15 next for what promises to be an unforgettable night for all, and no doubt the unique sound of Foster and Allen will be with us for many years to come.
