Kilkenny YFG to relaunch its branch with AGM

Kilkenny Young Fine Gael will hold its AGM on Saturday April 10 in The Club House Hotel, Kilkenny at 7.30pm. The meeting will be chaired by Kilkenny senator 31-year-old John Paul Phelan.

As well as electing a new branch committee the meeting will be discussing Fine Gael’s alternatives to the present Government, particularly the party’s alternative banking policy and its “New Politics” policy document devised by Kilkenny's own Phil Hogan TD, which aims to transform how politics works in Ireland.

Kilkenny Young Fine Gael spokesperson John Morrissey has welcomed the relaunch of the Kilkenny YFG branch stating:

“The relaunch of Kilkenny Young Fine Gael is an opportunity for young people in Kilkenny to join a youth political party where they will be able to contribute and be part of a vibrant team that is aiming not just to change the Government, but to change the way Ireland works, for the better.

“We have radical policies to overhaul the defunct health system and the public service, to get the banks back in the business of lending and to reform the way politics works. Young Fine Gael plays an important part within the Fine Gael party, bringing new ideas, new views, and new ways of thinking to the fore and promotes the interests of young people right across the country. We would encourage anyone who has the slightest interest in making change a reality in Ireland, to come along, get involved and join up on the night of our AGM.”

Young Fine Gael is strongly opposed to the Government’s banking plan, a plan which they say unfortunately ensures that all young people will be paying for the mistakes of Fianna Fáil throughout their working careers.

The AGM is expected to be a lively and interesting affair with guests Senator John Paul Phelan, Deputy Phil Hogan and Councillor Mary Hilda Kavanagh all in attendance. New members are, as always, welcome to go along and join the branch on the night.
