Thursday April 15 will be a very exciting day for the eight successful models from this year’s MacDonagh Junction model search. With hearts pounding, friends waiting anxiously in the crowd, and cameras flashing, their dream will come true when they walk down the catwalk for the first time in the centre’s spring/summer fashion show.
The models have been receiving expert training from Karen Morrissey from Hype Model Management and she is in no doubt that the girls will be ready for their big night.
“We’re having a great time training the models, the standard has exceeded expectations,” Ms Morrissey said. “Really looking forward to an amazing night.”
This show will be the biggest run in MacDonagh Junction with 12 stores displaying their latest fashions for spring and summer 2010. It will be the first time Carraig Donn and Josef are on the catwalk in Workhouse Square and they will be joined by Dunnes, Next, River Island TK Maxx, Apollo, Benetton, Carraig Donn Champion, Sisley, Mexx, Josef, Barratt’s, and No Name/Sasha.
The show starts at 7.30pm and there is a complimentary wine reception beforehand. Goodie bags will be given to people on arrival. Make sure to put your best outfit on as there is a prize for best dressed and best hair.
Donie Butler, centre manager at MacDonagh Junction, is really looking forward to a great night.
“MacDonagh Junction is really all about fashion and it is the core commercial activity of our centre,” he said. “We are very proud of the range of fashion on offer from such well known national and international labels available to shoppers at MacDonagh Junction. We are also delighted to be associated with the local branch of the Samaritans who do such fabulous unselfish work every day in our community.”
Proceeds for the event go to the Samaritans. Tickets are priced at only €10 and can be purchased in stores at MacDonagh Junction, from the management office, or from all Samaritans branches. A monster raffle on the night with terrific prizes will take place at the end of the show, proceeds will also go to the Samaritans.
There is free parking after 6pm and stores will stay open until 9pm.
