There is just under a month until the Cystic Fibrosis Association of Ireland (CFAI ) national conference, which takes place from Friday April 23 to Sunday 25 in Hotel Kilkenny.
The theme this year is ‘Meeting the Challenges of Managing Cystic Fibrosis in Ireland’, with a focus on the home, CF centres, and at a policy level.
The conference will mark the beginning of ‘65 Roses/ CF Week’, the new national awareness week which will be launched on the evening of Friday April 23.
There are some extremely strong guest speakers who will speak on the latest news and developments in the whole area of CF including: ‘An overview of progress in managing CF over the past decade’: Rosie Barnes, CEO CF Trust UK; ‘The challenges in Ireland to improve CF Services’: Philip Watt, CEO CFAI; ‘Challenges for independent living’: Orla Tinsley, journalist and CF activist; and ‘Recent advances in research into Cystic Fibrosis that will benefit CF patients in Ireland’: Professor Gerry McElvaney, consultant respiratory medicine, Beaumont Hospital, head of medical department, RCSI.
