Dog walk to promote plight of Kilkenny carers

Kilkenny's first charity dog walk is taking place this Easter Bank Holiday weekend organised by The Carers’ Association and Petmania.

It is hoped that this family event will help to raise vital funds for local family carers.

Families are asked to get their pooch on a lead and bring the family for a healthy and fun dog walk this Easter Monday.

The walk will begin from Petmania on John Street in Kilkenny on Easter Monday, April 5, at 2pm.

With family carers across Kilkenny receiving cuts to their social welfare payments and a reduction in vital health services, Petmania is sponsoring Kilkenny's first charity dog walk with The Carers’ Association.

The dog walk is part of a national fundraising campaign by The Carers’ Association and Petmania which will see charity dog walks for family carers beginning from 11 of Petmania's 12 stores nationwide.
