Dublin group Hoarsebox are taking a short break from recording their new album to play a handful of Irish gigs to promote the release of their latest single, including a Kilkenny performance this Saturday.
The four-piece have been busy recording in Mississippi in the US with revered producer Denis Herring (Modest Mouse, Counting Crows, Elvis Costello ).
They recently released their new single ‘Work Party’, an up-tempo pop-rock jaunt which has been gaining momentum and will be featured on episode one of the new American reality series ‘The Lazy Environmentalist’.
And this Saturday, March 27, they will perform in Langton’s Set Theatre as one of four irish gigs to promote the single.
The band recently became the first music act to avail of digital media and internet company DV4’s new iPhone application, ‘Band in the Hand’, a free app aimed at helping bands keep in touch with their fans via instant delivery of music, video and news.
From varying backgrounds (including Peruvian and Indonesian ), the members of Hoarsebox boast an international outlook and an energetic approach to making music.
A 2008 EP, ‘Cuckooland’, led to a series of appearances in New York club circuit venues. Their debut album, with Herring at the helm, is scheduled for release this spring.
