Sineád Connery (Conahy ) daughter of local councillor Catherine Connery and Donal Connery has been selected as the captain of the Munster senior hockey team for the Interprovincial Championships, which take place in Dublin this weekend.
Connery plays centre field for the C of I Cork first team and they are currently in a tight play off with Cork Harlequins and UCC for top honours in Munster.
Connery has won international caps with Ireland at u-16, u-18, and u-21 level. Her current form has been rewarded with the captaincy and her team face stiff opposition in Ulster, Leinster, and Connaught.
Her sisters Áine (13 senior Irish caps ) and Éimear are also selected on the Munster squad. Sister Fiona (57 senior international caps ) is unavailable for selection.
