Na Fianna get through but still need your votes

Local ballad group Na Fianna have made it through to the semi finals of RTE’s All Ireland Talent Contest.

Last Sunday night the band won huge public support right across the country, particularly from their native homes of Kilkenny and Laois, and were voted as one of just two contestants to make it past the Wildcard show from a total of eight.

This Sunday they will need your support again so be sure to tune into RTE 1 at 6.30pm to support the group. Remember that voting starts at 7.30pm and you can vote as many times as you like so vote often and help push a local band through.

Speaking to the Kilkenny Advertiser, Damian Walsh from Na Fianna said: “It was a tough night to call as expected with all acts performing very well. We were very happy with our own performance and prayed we had done enough to persuade the public to vote for us.

“Lucky for us the public backed us. We were very disappointed the first night to come in second as the judges had put us at the top of their score board. This inspired us to get out and campaign more. This we did,” he said.

“It is a victory for the hard work we have all put in over the past few weeks especially since we did not top the public vote the first day. We now have a short period of time to regroup and plan for the next show on Sunday. We will be in Dublin Friday for a rehearsal with the director and the choreographers. Saturday is the costume and sound rehearsals. Sunday is the dress rehearsal and interviews and then the live show is at 6.30pm. Voting is at 7.30pm,” he continued.

“Thanks to all who supported us last week and spread the word to all family and friends to vote this Sunday. Every vote counts. Vote to keep the Irish customs in the competition. Vote for the ballads - Vote for Na Fianna,” appealed Damian.
