U10 Ormonde Villa v Freebooters
Freebooters u10s played Ormonde Villa on Saturday with some excellent football played from both sides. Goalscorers for the Blues were Mikey Byrne, Sam Cantwell and Ciaran Walsh.
Scorers for Villa were Jack Clifford and Owen Wall. Best for Freebooters were Killian Duffy, Mikey Byrne, and Hanna Scott. Best for Villa were Owen Wall, Jack Clifford and Alex Molloy.
U12 A Freebooters 0-2 Evergreen
The ‘Booters U12s got off to a poor start in Scanlon Park on Saturday with Evergreen going into a two goal lead within five minutes with goals from Eoin Kelly and Tadhg O'Dwyer.
Freebooters made some positional changes soon afterwards and gradually got back into the game, but failed to break down a strong Evergreen defence.
U12B Freebooters 3-0 Highview Athletic
The Freebooters U12B team returned to winning ways with a hard fought game in Scanlon Park against Highview Athletic. The game was evenly matched for the first twenty minutes until the deadlock was broken by Evan Swan who put Freebooters one up at half time.
The Blues dominated the second half with Paddy Earl doing great work in midfield and Declan Wall-Young working hard in defence. Ross Dowling found the net twice in the second half cementing the victory for Freebooters.
U14 Freebooters 4-1 Fort Rangers
The Freebooters u14s team ran out 4-1 winners over Fort Rangers with goals from Danny Bolger (2 ), Eamon O'Reilly and Cian Morton one a piece.
U16 Ormonde Villa 0-3 Freebooters
Freebooters continued their good run of form with a 3-0 victory over Ormonde Villa in Newpark. ‘Booters got off to a great start when ‘man of the match’ Nathan West struck a half volley from the edge of the box after three minutes.
‘Booters went two up when Cathal O’Leary poked home a goal from a corner. The game was put beyond Villa's reach when Conor Keane continued his fine run of form in front of goal and headed in from a Nathan West corner. From then on ‘Booters closed out the game led by their captain Robbie Hayes, the back four followed his no nonsense style. Goalkeeper Craig Cummins was his usual agile self, producing one brilliant reflex save in the second half. Midfielders Nathan Culleton and Tucker Egan broke up Villa’s midfield allowing the hard working Dara Egan, Stevie Chappell and Nathan West to create chances. Eoin Kavanagh played his usual high standard for the team, his skill and quick feet caused Ormonde Villa lots of problems. Substitutes Andrew Valentine, Paddy Cantwell and Steve Thompson continued the hard work and team play when introduced in the second half.

A meeting will take place this Saturday, February 27 at 10.40am in the Watershed for the under 10 and under 13 girls soccer teams. Those interested in playing for the club are asked to attend this meeting accompanied by their parents or guardian.
