After more than a three-year sabbatical, KATS are back with a vengeance with a fantastic night’s entertainment on the cards in the form of three one-act plays.
The performances will take place in Cleere’s theatre on Parliament Street from March 10 - 13.
From shocking to dramatic, to belly laughing content, it’s a feast that will suit every palate.
Last week we spoke about The Insanity of Mary Gerard - a hard hitting, shocking and dramatic piece of theatre with amazing performances that will have audiences glued to the seats.
This week we tell of the more seductive of the threesome The Extraordinary Revelations of Orca the Goldfish.
For Henry Smith - actor, raconteur, sporting hero, leading socialite, business tycoon, secret agent, Casanova and acting President of the United States - life was rarely dull.
For Alice Smith, housewife - life was rarely anything else.
Enter Michel - French waiter - tall, dark and available. Exactly what happened next, no-one's quite sure. Except that it involved a rotting melon, a deckchair and a bottle of neck-rub.
Fantasy blurs into reality. Secret passions explode. And two worlds which seem a million miles apart are suddenly on a collision course.
It could only happen to Henry and Alice. And only their pet goldfish, Orca, and you, will ever know the true story.
This is a one-act version of a play entitled The Secret Lives of Henry & Alice. Directed by one of Kilkenny’s finest performers Alan Grant puts his actors through their paces with intuition and acute attention to detail.
Like the full-length version, this play is a virtuoso piece for two extremely talented and versatile performers (Sean Gaffney and Mairead Forristal ) - who are called upon to play many different characters as they act out their fantasy worlds.
The Extraordinary Revelations of Orca the Goldfish is a very fast paced, side splitting comedy showcasing the talents of two of Kilkenny’s finest actors being stretched to their limits.
This truly is a treat for the lucky few seeing two truly talented actors taking on an hilarious and extremely challenging one act by the extremely funny David Tristram. So grab a pint in the cosy surroundings of Cleere’s theatre, sit back, relax, and try to keep up with the insane, sex fuelled antics of Henry and Alice. We promise you will go home with a smile on your face – let’s hope Henry and Alice will be as lucky.
Booking is now open on 086-0594162. Tickets are €10 and the first play starts at 8pm sharp. Simply leave a message giving your name, stating the night you wish to attend and the number of tickets required. The tickets will be at the door for collection on the night.
