The Tinahely Agricultural Show is preparing for another year of fun and festivities on August 4, 2008 at Fairwood Park, adjacent to the stunning surrounds of Tomnafinogue Oak Wood.
This exciting agricultural event, which was established in 1935 and is still going strong, takes place this August Bank Holiday Monday. Tinahely Agricultural Show is one of the largest such events nationally and is renowned far and wide for its variety of events for young and old and competitions held throughout the day.
Visitors will have plenty of activities to see and do at this great family day out. Entertainment will go on throughout the day with song, dance and activities to suit all.
The Tinahely Agricultural Show is a showcase for all breeds of livestock and sheep. There will also be bloodstock and show jumping events, as well as driving and mounted games.
Visitors will also be able to enjoy an impressive array of home produced crafts and produce. Venue for the show is Fairwood Park, Tinahely, overlooking the well-known Tomnafinogue Oak Woods and in close proximity to Coollattin Golf Club.
Tinahely is situated in south county Wicklow, approximately one hour from Dublin, Wexford and Kilkenny. Aughrim, Ireland’s Tidiest Town, is just 15 minutes away.
Schedule of events: Showing Classes – horses, cattle and sheep; horse and pony showjumping; pony club mounted games; carriage driving classes; indoor food and craft exhibitions; craft village; IFA food from our farms exhibition; quilt marquee; pet’s corner; dog show; large trade display; food court and refreshments; entertainment village; music and dance; crowning of Show Queen.
