Think local first for business

Kilkenny consumers, business people and the public at large are being encouraged to support local enterprise and become more aware of the wealth of goods and services available on their doorstep through a new Kilkenny Chamber initiative.

The Chamber is hosting a Business Expo on Tuesday, October 21 from 4-7pm in the Kilkenny Ormonde Hotel. The exhibition will be open to the public and admission to the event is free.

“A wealth of businesses operate in and around Kilkenny but not everyone is aware of the scale of such enterprises or the services they offer,” according to Chamber CEO, Alison McGrath.

Kilkenny Chamber identified an information gap where many people are unaware of the business, services, supports and contacts available throughout Kilkenny city and county.

“We therefore created the expo to support local business, encourage commercial activity and provide a platform to showcase Kilkenny business. It is a core responsibility of chamber to highlight the diversity of business in Kilkenny and assist them in garnering new markets and locally is a good place to start in this regard.

A limited number of stands are still available at the event and businesses are strongly advised to contact the chamber and book their slot as soon as possible.

“The stands are available at a very reasonable cost of €300 and the event is not restricted to chamber members so we are affording any local businesses and service providers the opportunity to showcase at the expo,” added Ms McGrath.
