Shamrocks and St Lachtain’s chase AIB GAA club titles

Ballyhale Shamrocks and St Lachtain’s are among the 15 clubs from ten counties which will be involved in the closing stages of the AIB GAA All-Ireland Club Championships.

The other clubs involved are Portlaoise (Laois ), St Gall’s (Antrim ); Dunloy (Antrim ); Naomh Colum Cille (Tyrone ); Cookstown (Tyrone ); Corofin (Galway ); Portumna (Galway ); Kiltimagh (Mayo ); Kilmurry-Ibrickane (Clare ); Blackrock (Limerick ); Newtownshandrum (Cork ); Spa (Kerry ); Castlegregory (Kerry ). Antrim are involved in three grades with St Gall’s (Antrim ) having reached the intermediate hurling final and the senior football semi-final while Dunloy will be flying the flag in senior hurling. Kilkenny, Galway, Kerry, and Tyrone each have two representatives. Galway clubs, Corofin and Portumna are in the senior football and senior hurling semi-finals; Ballyhale Shamrocks (senior hurling ) and St Lachtain’s (intermediate hurling ) represent Kilkenny; Kerry are chasing success in junior and intermediate football thanks to Castlegregory and Spa while Cookstown (intermediate football ) and Naomh Colum Cille (junior hurling ) will fly the Tyrone flag.

Clare (Kilmurry-Ibrickane SF ), Laois (Portlaoise SF ), Cork (Newtownshandrum SH ), Limerick (Blackrock JH ), Mayo (Kiltimagh JF ), are also represented.

The weekend of February 13/14 will be extremely busy with the AIB GAA junior and intermediate hurling and football finals played in Croke Park. The senior hurling semi-finals will be played on Sunday week, followed a week later by the football semi-finals.
