Dancing is a wonderful hobby and there are many forms that people can enjoy.
Traditional Irish dancing has made a massive comeback in the last decade thanks to Riverdance and such shows that have swept through the West End.
And now Kilkenny has its own little West End in James Stephen’s GAA Club every Sunday morning where the Elebert School of Dancing meets up to learn Irish dancing.
There are children’s classes available from 11.30am and adults are also catered for at Eleberts. There are also new opportunities to spent quality time with your child and learn to dance together in a combined class.
Owner Denise Elebert is a three time All-Ireland Irish dance champion and has just opened her new school in the club to help develop the skills of children and adults alike. Elebert has been teaching dance in Dublin for 10 years and is a member of CLRG, An Coimisiun le Rinci Gaelacha, as well as being a recognised Irish dancing adjudicator.
Classes at the Elebert School of Dancing will vary to suit all levels of dance knowledge and will suit all age groups.
Throughout the year there will be a variety of shows taking place within the class such as céilis and a class fhéis. The class will operate on a pay as you go system with the option of a discount for those paying per term.
