The Wine Centre, at John’s Street, is celebrating this week having been awarded the prestigious National Off-Licence Association Excellence Award 2010 on Monday January 11, 2010.
Presented by the National Off-Licence Association [NoffLA] which represents over 330 independent off licences throughout Ireland, the award is an indication of the excellence in service and product knowledge. This is the second year running where The Wine Centre has been recognised and it is the only off licence in Kilkenny to achieve the award.
Managing director, Shane O’Keeffe, says “It is a terrific achievement for our team, and a reassurance for our customers that The Wine Centre is recognised as one of leading experts in Ireland and the south-east.”
The awards ceremony took place in the prestigious surrounds of the Honourable Society of King’s Inns, Dublin, where the 56 finalists from around Ireland gathered for the final stage of the judging process, comprising a blindtasting conducted by Lievan Vanhoutte of Gilbeys of Ireland. According to NOffLA Chairman, Jim McCabe, the awards have been of the highest standard to date.
