Dead Cat Bounce play Kilkenny before tour Down Under

If you haven’t seen these guys before - now is the time to catch Dead Cat Bounce without the crowds and demand on tickets that can be experienced around Cat Laughs Comedy Festival time.

The group are making a surprise return to Kilkenny to the Set Theatre on Sunday January 24 and they will have comedy and music lovers in stitches as they serenade their audience with their scandalous songs and catchy tunes.

Dead Cat Bounce are appearing with comics Dermot Whelan and Jarlath Regan as special guests and neither of these comics needs any introduction. Both are Cat Laughs Comedy Festival regulars and have a dedicated fanbase around the south-east.

To define Dead Cat Bounce is difficult but in an attempt to do so we can say that Dead Cat Bounce are a rock and roll comedy supergroup made up of Damian (drums ), James (guitar, lead vocals ), Mick (keys ) and Shane (bass ).

They will sing and play like any other band... except for the outrageous and crazy lyrics, that is.

Expect all original songs in a variety of styles – from hip hop slow jams to 80s stadium rock anthems – all performed in tight trousers with smoke machines and a fair bit of rock posturing. Do not expect an evening of classical music or plain stand up comedy or you will be disappointed.

Dead Cat Bounce have been globally critically acclaimed and they visit Kilkenny in one of their last gigs before they depart for Australia for three months of gigging Down Under.

Based in Dublin, but touring all around the world, Dead Cat Bounce have performed at the Montreal Just for Laughs Festival, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Kilkenny Cat Laughs, London’s Big Joke and the Bulmer’s International Comedy Festival in 2009.

They are touring Australia and New Zealand from February until April and the band are very excited at the onset of their very first tour south of the equator.

Playing the Adelaide Fringe, Melbourne Comedy Festival, Sydney Comedy Festival and then going on a roadshow around Victoria and Canberra, the boys will be kept busy keeping the diaspora and Aussie and Kiwi natives laughing.

They will be missed at home, so don’t miss out the final opportunity to see these guys at their best at the Set Theatre on Sunday week. The show opens at 8:30pm - Tickets are €15.

Tickets also available at Rollercoaster Records, Kieran St, Kilkenny.
