Deputy Phil Hogan has lobbied the Government for flood relief schemes at Inistioge and Leighlinbridge.
In reply to Deputy Hogan’s request in Dail Eireann last week, the Minister of State at the Department of Finance, Martin Mansergh, said that the OPW will shortly seek applications for works to be undertaken in 2010.
“It will be open to the county councils to apply for funding under the schemes to address the problems in these villages,” said the Minister.
