A seven-year-old Kilkenny boy recently took to the sky in a special flight from Dublin to see Santa in an exciting mystery location.
Evan O’Shea from Piltown is a patient at Our Lady’s Children's Hospital in Crumlin and was one of the children from the hospital who got this great opportunity, courtesy of Aer Arann.
A group of Santa’s helpers greeted the children and their parents at Dublin Airport and they looked after the group for the duration of the trip. During the flight the families were treated to plenty of entertainment from the helpers including carol singing. The best part of the flight for most children was a visit to the cockpit to see the captain who presented them with medals to remember the day.
When the plane touched down the mystery location was revealed as the Isle of Man, which was festively decorated and Santa was awaiting the children there. The children spent hours having fun and playing games and they all got to meet Santa, sit on his lap and tell him what they wanted for Christmas.
After several hours of fun and games the children got back onto their plane and were flown home, accompanied by Santa. Each child returned home with a gift from his bag and a smile on their faces.
This was the eighth annual flight that Aer Arann has arranged for the children of the hospital and this year being just as successful.
