Families across Kilkenny looking for a free, fun-filled, festive day out are invited to support Clara National School Parents Association’s Christmas bazaar in the Hub, Cillín Hill, on Sunday, December 6, from 1pm to 5pm.
The annual bazaar will feature a wide variety of stalls and attractions, offering Christmas shoppers an ideal one stop shop for locally-produced Christmas gift ideas and stocking fillers. The family-focused, seasonal fundraiser will include a wheel of fortune, bottle stall, and jewellery stall as well as a Christmas trees stand, cake/tea stall all with a festive touch and much, much, more. Bookworms will revel in the selection of second-hand books on sale while there will also be face painting, carol singing, sport stacking with speed stacks, and other fun events. The annual fundraiser provides families throughout Kilkenny with an ideal opportunity to pick up locally-produced Christmas gifts while supporting a very good cause. Clara National School Parents Association chairperson, Sinead Gormley said: “A phenomenal amount of work goes into hosting an event such as this and we are very thankful to the parents of the parish for their support again this year. Last year’s bazaar drew support from across Kilkenny and Carlow and we hope for a similar turnout on December 6. Children who have not yet written to Santa can also have a chat with the man himself on the day, and even get their photo taken in his Grotto. We’re really looking forward to the day and welcome support from everyone,” she added. Clara National School is renowned as one of Kilkenny’s finest and has an unrivalled academic record. It is also recognised as being a very keen sporting school where pupils also learn Irish dancing, music, and art. A new classroom for sixth class pupils was recently added and all proceeds from the event will go towards the school building fund and other school activities. All support will be greatly appreciated. Admission to the event is free.
