Forget the X factor, have you the KMS factor?

Have you got what it takes to beat the best of Kilkenny’s top singing talents and win a lead role in the Kilkenny Musical Society’s upcoming production of Oliver?

We’re looking for people to audition for both adult and child roles for this great show, with popular numbers such as ‘Consider Yourself’, ‘Pick a Pocket or Two’ and ‘Where is Love’.

Auditions for boys aged 12-15 take place in the Watergate Theatre on Sunday November 15, from 2pm. The roles of Oliver, The Artful Dodger and a number of boys to be in “Fagin’s gang” will be filled from these auditions.

It is necessary to prepare an audition piece, which is now available in the Watergate Theatre. The pieces will be available on the day of the auditions also, but it is preferable to have done some preparation in advance.

Auditions for adults take place in the Club House Hotel, Patrick Street, on Tuesday November 17, from 7pm. Again, audition pieces can be picked up at the Watergate Theatre. There are a large number of adult roles to be filled, from larger roles such as Nancy, Bill Sykes and Fagin, to smaller but nonetheless very important roles. The show will be staged during Easter 2010.

KMS is staging a Christmas Concert on December 5, in the Watergate Theatre. All past, present and new members are welcome to attend rehearsals for this concert on Thursday November 12, at 8pm in James Stephen’s GAA Club.

So, if you ‘Consider Yourself’ to have what it takes to join KMS this year, please let us know! Contact nicola brennankk@hotmail.com and/or text 0863489288.
